Reboot is a 12 week Biblical based program that approaches issues that our combat soldiers and our first responders experience while trying to live “Life” after returning to a “Normal” home-life. For many years the mental health system has failed our heroes by trying to treat them using the normal protocol used for their average patients with mental issues. FINALLY the creators of REBOOT have found this to not be the best approach to treatment for Our Nation’s Best, therefore they created the program REBOOT.

Unlike treatment for issues like alcoholism, REBOOT has noticed that our soldiers and first responders have experienced traumatic situations that THEY ARE NOT AT FAULT FOR. For example: A soldier is required to take someone’s life. This event changes that soldier forever. Dealing with this event can be overwhelming sometimes. Most times, Our Hero will suppress the dreams, nightmares, visions, feelings, thoughts, etc. that happen when they come home. This suppression and feeling/thinking that they are not allowed to express weakness through admission is where we fail our greatest Heroes.

When the soldier above returns home, they still have to deal with the different events that have happened. Normal counseling for other mental health related issues tend to focus on “remove yourself from the issue you are struggling with”, like someone struggling with alcohol would avoid placing themselves in situations that provide the temptation to partake of alcoholic beverages. The soldier above cannot avoid the different thoughts and feelings that arise from their past experiences. The soldier also did not CHOOSE to be involved in the traumatic event, such as the person with the alcohol related problem who chooses to drink or not drink.

PTSD is a new term that stands for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. The actual meaning is not associated with labeling a person as “broken” with a mental “disorder”.

PTSD Is actually the term now given to describe the effects a person experiences after going through an awful traumatic experience. This program focuses on when a person who is doing their job as a soldier or first responder goes through a traumatic experience such as a person dieing in their arms, not being able to save someone, being the one who lived instead of dieing, having a young child brought to them that they just cannot save, seeing a body mangled unsuccessfully trying to resuscitate them, having to cut a person who did not make it out of a mangled car, getting shot or wounded in the line of duty, having to inform a family that their loved one is never coming home.

The list goes on and on. Our soldiers and first responders did not bring this trauma onto themselves, but were willing to put themselves on the front lines to go through this trauma in place of others. They have willingly stood in the gap protecting us from these horrors. Willing to go the extra mile to ensure we do not have to endure the outcome that haunts so many of them for years to come.

REBOOT has developed a 12 week course that is Biblically based program to reassure our HEROES that they ARE NOT ALONE!! Many of our brave men and women fall to the level of committing suicide due to the mental anguish they are experiencing. REBOOT wants this to end.

The REBOOT program is open to spouses if a couple wants to attend together, while this is not required, we encourage it. Some couples have been able to open doors of communication through this program that has strengthened their marriages.

REBOOT has been a benefit to everyone who has completed this course. REBOOT will provide a partnership of brothers that you may not have had otherwise of like minded individuals who are willing to go the extra mile for each other. one thing for sure, YOU ARE NO LONGER ALONE!! We are here together, and together we will overcome any and all obsticals in our path.

REBOOT leaders are not licensed mental health professionals, but a group of like minded individuals who share similar experiences, and are able to help guide the REBOOT class through this 12 week program to lead our HEROES to greener pastures. Encouraging them. Supporting them. Praying with them. Loving them.
