Ladies and Gentlemen!!!

Due to the COVID-19 virus, we will soon be STOPPING ALL on-site interpreting. We may have an exception now and then, but for YOUR SAFETY, we are going to be moving to a COMPLETE VRI platform until further notice.

I do want you to understand that I DO NOT endorse VRI as an effective means of communication, I DO feel that the current state of America requires it.

You are NOT REQUIRED to interpret VRI. You are also NOT REQUIRED to accept ON-SITE interpreting either. You are free to choose either, or both. I will understand and respect YOUR DECISION.

One thing that is going to be an issue is that we will be REQUIRING the requesting business to provide their OWN computer laptop-etc. to facilitate the communication. There is no telling what all we will have these people come up with. Please try to be as patient with them as possible.

It is possible that the clients may need us to call them on the phone to let us hear and understand them better. Please use some kind of headset when interpreting. Trying to use the microphone and speaker on your computer may become an issue. Most of these issues are resolved when using a headset with a microphone in it. Even the ones at the Dollar Tree work well with our system. If you do need to use your personal phone – at your discretion – please hide your number, I do not want you giving out your personal details. If you have to, call me and I can 3-way you if needed.

Please check back to this page regularly. This is a developing system. Updates, videos, how-to’s, and lessons learned will be posted here as I can get them up.

Also—-we still have a 1-hour minimum—-even for VRI.

YOU ARE NOT A TECH SUPPORT GURU!!! Or if you are… have at it!! Otherwise, have them call ROK at 806-786-6131 to resolve any issues. We have a back-up system if firewalls-etc get in our way.
